You may not like Trading Spaces, but you will still see a house cleaning if you are an NBA fan. Thanks to Ron Artest and Latrell Sprewell, the NBA's reputation is no longer perfect, and David Stern is willing to change that. As of last Thursday, NBA players will be fined if they don't wear formal suits in the previous game.

It's true that the NBA forum has a reputation for being overpaid idiots, but that wearing a Giovanni suit won't change that. Does the NBA think I think more about Ron Artest if he dresses like Donald Trump? Do you remember when Vernon Maxwell, Dennis Rodman and Bill Laimbeer played? Yes, these boys were model citizens from which these young people could learn one or two things.

Believe it or not, the war on fashion and leisure has been going on for a while in the NBA. Since last year, players can't hear the walkmans in the pre-game sessions, something Vince Carter discovered. Chris Gatling was spotted a couple of years ago when his orange headband didn't match the Cavs team's colors.

These guys already have uniforms on, so is it really necessary to give them a dress code? In any case, making them dress elegantly will ruin the image of the NBA. Watching players dress up randomly and listen to music helps relate these people to fans. But equipping them with $ 1000 costumes will only intensify our opinions of them as supposed idiots.

And that's not all. NBA players need to attend multiple community service sessions because David Harrison doesn't have enough to do.

It's not so a bad thing to improve the NBA's image. As far as statistics are concerned, the large amount of fines and suspension provided weekly is staggering. In total fines fined by athletes last year, MLB raised a total of $ 170,725 of all fines. The NFL raised approx. $ 3.3 million. The NBA collected a total of $ 13.9 million for league violations in 2004. Stern only offered Jeff Van Gundy $ 100K when Van Gundy suggested the matches were tampered with. Not once since the beginning of the regular season did the NBA spend a 2-week period without suspension / fine.

In addition to its drug policy, the NBA does a good job of keeping an eye on its league, but having players wearing suits doesn't help the NBA's image at all. The only good thing that comes from this new dress code is the humor we will experience seeing these guys in suits.
