When it comes to African fashion design, many of the designs have evolved from the country's climate. People had to stay comfortable and the materials were selected based on the harsh climate. This led to the use of various types of materials that may not have been used in conventional design. Keeping these materials and designs alive has been the job of several members of the African fashion design industry.

African fashion design originally started with many animal skins and skins. All of this is a necessary part of dress and cultural background. However, over time, these became internationally accepted and sought-after designs. Today the response to an African dresses fashion show is tremendous. Among the types of fiber used for clothing are raffia palm, jute, linen and silk. Natural vegetable and mineral dyes are used to create unique shades of color.
