Five things your wedding photographer should offer

You are getting married, right? Congratulations! And you want your wedding day to be as perfect and beautiful as you have always dreamed of. But, if you choose the wrong photographer, your day may be much less than perfect and you may not be satisfied with the images your photographer captures. Journal. So how do you choose the right photographer?

That is how. Make sure your wedding photographer offers you these five things. Then you can relax and feel confident that the love, special moments and important details of your wedding day will be captured in beautiful images for a lifetime of memories.

1. Do you like the photographer's work? Look at a pretty good selection of photographers' wedding images, not just a few photos on a website. It is best if you can see at least an album or two and a test book of a complete wedding. The albums probably represent the best of the photographer's work, and the proof book shows all the typical images he captures on the wedding day. How do you think the images? Are they pleasant to look at? Is the lighting and color okay? Is the photographer's style what you are looking for? Most of our wedding couples are looking for a mix of photojournalism images and classic classic traditional poses. Make sure your photographer is able and comfortable to take the style of images you want for your wedding. If you don't like the photographer's work, there is no need to consider it further. Also, make sure the work you see has been done by the photographer who will be photographing your wedding. Some studios will show you a lot of work from multiple photographers, but they will not guarantee that you will get the photographer whose work you like best. Sometimes a husband and wife team like ours is the best way to ensure that the job of the photographer you see is the job that you will get.
2. Do you like the personality and manners of the photographer? Is the photographer confident, calm, and not a nervous crackpot? Does the photographer have a good sense of humor? Remember, the photographer will be present for most of your wedding day, interacting with you, your wedding, your family, and your guests. A demanding, uncompromising and tense photographer can make your day unpleasant. I know you don't want that! Make sure that you and your future spouse get along with the photographer of your choice. If the photographer is going to have the help of a second photographer at your wedding, meet the assistant photographer and make sure you are comfortable with them too. To get to know your photographer before choosing him, it is very important that you meet him personally. If it's physically impossible to meet with the photographer, you need to make sure that some of their testimonials from past clients make you feel comfortable with the photographer's personality.

3. Does the photographer have a strong sense of commitment to photographing your wedding and a professional work ethic? Does the photographer use professional cameras, lenses and flash systems? Does he or she have at least some lenses that produce good images in low light situations (f2.8 aperture)? Does the photographer use a soft box on the flash and keep the flash on the lens in horizontal and vertical photos to minimize shadows in their images? Does he or she always bring a full set of backup gear, or does he bring a second photographer with another set of gear, to every wedding? How will the photographer and her assistant dress on their wedding day? Ask them. Hopefully they will be professional enough to arrive dressed in a tuxedo, suit, or fancy dress. Although, if your Edmonton wedding photographers is a man and says she comes in a fancy dress, she might be a little concerned about that :-). You should have the feeling that your photographer is dedicated to making sure your wedding day is wonderful, and that all the love, emotions, and important details will be captured in images that you can enjoy for the rest of your life.

4. Does your photographer have the experience to anticipate all the good things that will happen on your wedding day and the experience to deal with the bad things that could also happen? An experienced photographer will have photographed enough weddings to anticipate and capture special moments during the day, and the important details that a "novice" can easily miss. An experienced photographer also knows that things sometimes go wrong and will be able to anticipate and deal with them, often without you knowing that something went wrong.
